Dobbs is an armored truck guard working for Eagle Shield, he is first seen in the locker room, getting dressed for the day. He is close friends with Ty Hackett as seen bumping Ty's fist for telling a crude joke. He works with Quinn and Palmer in truck 17 at Eagle Shield. While pulling the prank on Ty, Dobbs played a thug who put the bomb on the armored truck door, which turned out to just be smoke bombs. He goes that same night with the guys to a bar telling jokes about the prank. It is possible Dobbs's first name is Bob, this can be assumed by Palmer laughing and can fantly hear him say, "you wet your pants Bobby."

Dobbs was in on the planned heist with Mike, Baines, Quinn, and Palmer. He is seen at the locker room disappointed when he finds out from Mike that Ty wasn't in on the heist with them. However shows an expression of excitement when Ty announces his change of mind. Dobbs rids with Palmer and Quinn as they collect the money and head to the steel mill to stash the money. Dobbs goes after the homeless man while he tries to escape. After the death of the homeless man, Dobbs, with Palmer, attempt to drive the pins from the hinges of the truck. After his turn, Ty asked him for help, but Dobbs refuses and tells him that he should have stuck with them. After the conversion, Baines attempts to burn the truck down with the gasoline they found in the storage area where they stash the money. Dobbs tries to stop Baines but ends up starting a fist-fight. After the fight breaks up, Dobbs suffers from a broken tooth from a punch to the mouth from Baines.

After the sheriff, Jake Eckehart is wounded by Baines, Dobbs starts to change his mind on the heist. He offers his assistance to Ty. Ty asks Dobbs to get the fuse for the truck so they would have a way out of the mill. At first Dobbs was scared but made his way slowly to Mike's jacket where he kept the fuse, while Mike, Baines, and Palmer were distracted with the pin. Dobbs manages to get the fuse into the engine of the truck, but is caught by Mike, Baines, and Palmer. Mike pulls the fuse of the engine and looks at Dobbs with a questioned face. Dobbs explains that "he doesn't know what they're doing anymore" and that "this wasn't what we (Mike and Dobbs) agreed on." Scared, Dobbs goes to Palmer for help, and asks him not to let Mike and Baines do anything to him. Palmer agrees to protect him from them and Dobbs just walks away and is done helping them. Palmer walks over with Dobbs and assures him that everything will be okay. Dobbs starts to weep and says he just wants to go home and see his kid (revealing that Dobbs is a father). Palmer leads him into an iron shed and stabs Dobbs in the chest, slowly letting his body fall to the ground, killing him.
